Publishing is one of the Sententiae Community’s key areas of activity. We support the production and publication of original research in philosophy and the history of philosophy by Ukrainian scholars, as well as translations into Ukrainian of important works from the major works of the world’s philosophical traditions.
This work is carried out through two complementary projects: the Sententiae Library, dedicated to original scholarship, and Shoulders of Giants, which supports the translation and publication of works in Ukrainian. The Community also supports books outside these two projects when they align with its research priorities and academic standards.
The Sententiae Library is a collection of original works in philosophy and the history of philosophy produced within Sententiae Community or with its support. It provides a platform for publishing the work of the Community’s researchers and research centers, including individual and collective monographs, edited volumes, editions of primary sources, and other scholarly publications.
The collection will comprise a number of separate series, each devoted to a particular area of research. The first, “Methodology”, publishes the results of major theoretical and methodological studies and discussions. The second, “Scholarly Works of the Student Society for Oral History of Philosophy”, presents the results of the Society’s long-term research and methodological work.

Shoulders of Giants is a programme that provides systematic support for the translation and publication in Ukrainian of major works of world philosophy, as well as important scholarly and educational literature. Its aim is to address gaps in the body of philosophical literature available in Ukrainian, make classical and contemporary texts accessible to Ukrainian readers, and contribute to the development of philosophical terminology, research, and education in Ukraine.
The programme is built around a list of 100 priority books for translation, compiled on the basis of an expert survey. It includes classics in the history of philosophy, works from individual philosophical disciplines, and educational literature. Rather than supporting translations on an ad hoc basis, the programme follows a systematic approach: the Community supports the publication of works included in the current version of the list, which is reviewed and updated annually with input from the wider philosophical community. In this way, Shoulders of Giants seeks gradually to build a substantial body of Ukrainian-language texts essential to the full development of contemporary philosophical culture.
